Manual Modification of Results

After analysis, the results can be modified manually via clicking on the "Modify" button. This open the result modification dialog: Result Modification Dialog.

Toolbar

On the top of the dialog, the toolbar can be found:

  • Mode: Three different modes can be choosen. View does not allow any modification, Add allows the addition of new nuclei and foci, Edit allows the editing of existing nuclei/foci
  • Settings: Coords. activates mouse tracking inside the plot. The tracked coordinates will be shown on the right side under the plot window. Ellipses will show the detected nuclei as approximated ellipses on all channels of the image
  • Channel Selection Checkbox: This checkbox will contain the names of all channels of the image as well as "composite". Changing to one channel or composite will change the image accordingly and allows modification of the selected channel. Note that no modification is possible if "composite" is choosen

How to edit existing nuclei/foci

At first, the channel containing the nuclei/foci of interest has to be selected via the Channel Selection Checkbox. Then, the has to be changed to "Edit". The nucleus/focus of interest can then be selected via a left click. The properties will then be shown in the field below the plot window and can be changed. The "Preview" button can be used to see the changes. Note that only changes will be saved if the "Accept" button is clicked

How to add nuclei/foci

The procedure for adding is the same as editing, except that the mode has to be changed to "Add". New nuclei and foci can then be added via holding SHIFT and clicking the left mouse button. Note that sometime shift is not registered correctly. If this is the case, click once into the plot window and then start holding the shift key. If a nucleus was edit, the mode will automatically change to edit mode an the properties of the nucleus will be shown in the appropriate text boxes.
