refactor: build synchronizer using webpack

Changes

• Had to use webpack v4 because v5 wouldn't build, giving me only errors
• Downgraded a bunch of dependencies to earlier versions so that they can work with webpack 4

I'm digging into this now, still couple of issues:

• Tests are not bundled.
• Needed to downgrade to Node v16 due to OpenSSL issue (more details on cause and possible solutions - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69692842/error-message-error0308010cdigital-envelope-routinesunsupported/73465262#73465262).
• Doesn't seem to work with VSC extension (checking in detail now to make sure).
