Potential Story Elements

  • Sheikah as a major race and driver of story/conflict
  • Timeline placement prior to Minish Cap but after Skyward Sword (Era of Chaos, Imprisoning War)
  • Some focus on the Shadow Temple (different name?) that serves as a center of worship to the Sheikah in Kakariko
    • Designed to act as a magnet to draw in all greedy or malevolent thoughts from Hyrule and thus maintain order (possibly an attempt to curb the Era of Chaos and prevent Demise's return?)
    • Plan backfired and created a group of Sheikah who couldn't handle the greed, beginning to want the Triforce for themselves (Interlopers)
    • The Interlopers then turned the Shadow Temple into a dark place where they tortured their own people for information and more powerful magic.
    • Led to the Shadow Temple we see in Ocarina of Time and added the tear to the Sheikah eye symbol (as well as creation of the Fused Shadow).
  • The "Man Who Could See The Truth" (later Bongo Bongo) could play in somehow, possibly as the Sheikah leader who ends up being the final boss (if so, have at least two forms - one as a man and one as Bongo Bongo)
  • Sheikah eye and the triangles above it represent the Triforce as well their three pronged duty: protect the descendant of Hylia (Wisdom), seek out the Hero (Courage), and watch for Demise (Power). The tear was added after the Interloper event.
  • The Sacred Realm is on the Surface at this time, in the Statue of the Goddess from Skyloft (wherever it landed)
    • Temple of Time is built near/over this temple after the events of the Era of Chaos (so after the game, but we should reference at least Rauru), and is related to the Temple of Light in TP (which is in the Sacred Realm)
    • No Hyrule Castle yet at this time - that was built after the Temple of Time

Story Progression

  • Start in Hylia Settlement, the layout of which encourages the player to go north and then east through the entire settlement and to the Sheikah Village.
    • North is the desert, which is harsh and barren at this point in the game (and blocked by bushes).
    • South is Lake Hylia and Korok Woods, which has little to do at this point (and has enemies around).
  • On the way to Sheikah Village is the Statue of the Goddess in the Eastern Hylian Field. The hero is encouraged to enter here (by whom? NPCs in Sheikah Village could reference it? require a sword to advance to any other maps?) and the White Sword is found in a pedestal in the opening room. This is the Master Sword from Skyward Sword which has lost some of its temperance gained during that game.
  • Next is the Sheikah Village, where the rumors of the Interlopers is spreading.
  • Further north is Eldin Volcano where the intended first dungeon is (Fire Temple).
  • Then just south of that in the same area is the Earth Dungeon (potential quest name: Mystery of the Mogma)
  • East of these areas is the Skyview Temple, which leads to the Sky and the Wind Temple. Potential return to Sheikah Village on the way?
  • South of this is Zora's Domain and the Water Temple.
  • Further south is the Korok Woods, Lost Woods, and the Hylian Garrison (Forest Temple).
  • Return to the Sheikah Village for the Shadow Temple.
  • West of this is the Gerudo Desert and the Temple of Time.
  • Finally, the Statue of the Goddess in the center of Hyrule houses the final element.

Elements (in increasing level of dungeon difficulty)

  • Fire - Goron Ruby (Red)
  • Earth - Subrosian Amethyst (Purple)
  • Wind - Rito Diamond (White)
  • Water - Zora Sapphire (Blue)
  • Forest - Korok Emerald (Green)
  • Shadow - Sheikah Opal (Grey)
  • Spirit - Gerudo Topaz (Yellow)
  • Light - Hylian Amber (Orange)

Swords

  • White Sword - initial (Master Sword which has long some of its temperance from Skyward Sword)
  • Master Sword (forged with Fire, Water, Forest) - attack x2 on all enemies
  • Shadow Sword (forged with Shadow, Spirit, Earth) - attack x4 on light and magic enemies, attack x3 on others
  • Light Sword (forged with Light, Spirit, Wind) - attack x4 on dark and undead enemies, attack x3 on others
