The Test: The JumpCloud Agent and Account Takeover

Time to test what you've learned and prove you're ready for the next step: Importing users to JumpCloud.

The Situation

Steve Jabs is a new JumpCloud administrator who is onboarding to JumpCloud and did not complete the JumpCloud Onboarding Decision Tree.

Steve is in the process of binding his JumpCloud users to his JumpCloud systems.

The below attributes define the JumpCloud user billy.fence who Steve imported into JumpCloud using the Office 365 import utility.

Username billy.fence
Email [email protected]
FirstName Billy
LastName Fence

The system bill.fence.mac is a Mac system and has three existing local system user accounts with usernames:

bill.fence
steven.jabs
mapplesoft.admin

The Action

Steve intends to takeover Billy's existing account and binds JumpCloud user billy.fence to the JumpCloud system bill.fence.mac.

The Question

What action will the JumpCloud agent make on the system bill.fence.mac when Steve saves the association between JumpCloud user billy.fence and JumpCloud system bill.fence.mac?

Select the correct answer to proceed to the next step:

A: The JumpCloud Agent will rename the existing bill.fence account to billy.fence and takeover the account

B: The JumpCloud Agent will not create user billy.fence on the machine and return an error because of a username mismatch between billy.fence and bill.fence

C: The JumpCloud Agent will create a new local account with username billy.fence and delete the existing local user account bill.fence

D: The JumpCloud Agent will create a new local account with username billy.fence and not interact with the existing local user account bill.fence
