What You Need to Know: JumpCloud User Accounts

Before creating your first JumpCloud user it is important to understand the attributes that define a user in JumpCloud and how these attributes contribute to the JumpCloud end user experience.

A JumpCloud user is defined by four main attributes FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, USERNAME, and EMAIL.

Within a JumpCloud directory the EMAIL and USERNAME values populated for each user must be unique.

All aspects of a JumpCloud user can be modified after user creation except for the JumpCloud USERNAME which is a non-modifiable value once a user is created.

Let's dive into the attributes that drive the JumpCloud end user experience.
